I met Mrs. Domesticated way back in college when she was still Ms. Tina Langit. She was one of the most popular faces (and voices) on campus. I admired her a lot because as a student leader in UP Diliman, she was always on top of her game! Now that she is a wife and certified alpha mom, Mrs. Christina Langit-Bagro (@mrsdomesticated) continues to soar high by taking motherhood to a whole new level. She makes food art creations for her kids!
I seriously feel like I do not have the time (nor the talent) to create carefully crafted meals for my children, but I got inspired after seeing Mrs. Domesticated’s Instagram feed (#momgoals).
So what did I learn from Mrs. Domesticated when it comes to making food art?
1. You need to plan ahead. Know which food you plan on making and list the ingredients for the meal. Cheese is super essential.
2. Think of how you will arrange the food. You can check out Pinterest, YouTube, or Google for inspiration.
3. Do it for your kids. Seeing your kids happy with their food is worth the time and the effort.
Check out some of her creations:
1. Christmas Snowman
🎵For he's a jolly #snowman For he's a jolly snowman For he's a jolly snowman And nobody can deny! 🎵 Just because Christmas is in the air… Hope this makes you smile! 😀😘 (i finally have a different-colored plate! Haha. Yes, this fact makes me crazy happy! Got this from @crateandbarrelph) (Xmas tree is broccoli, with rice as snow and some decorative picks; snowman is made of two rice balls, with nori and carrot details, plus cheese scarf; ground that is covered with "ice" is fried fish; snowflakes are cheese) #mrsdomesticated #christmas2016 #foodart #foodartph #christmasfoodart #christmasfood
2. The Swan:
Having visitors is always fun. More so nowadays because I get to share my love for #foodart. Thanks for dropping by, Teb (and kuya ej and nora!). 🙂 (Greens are zucchini and french beans, main dish is just corned beef – sorry, didn't know you, Teb, were coming that time! Could have cooked something better. Haha!) ✌️ Btw, just 3 days ago, a giant panda in a zoo in Atlanta, Georgia has given birth to twins! 🙂 News here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/09/04/zoo-celebrates-giant-panda-giving-birth-to-set-of-twins—again/ #latepost #mrsdomesticated #foodart #foodartph #nomnom #instafood #panda #panda🐼
4. Mickey Mouse:
Another mickey mouse tonight because @mishalangit said I haven't featured what they gave. (Tama nga naman sya! Haha! 😂 this very nice plate is c/o misha and lala, from their recent trip to Japan. Thank you!!! ❤️😍❤️) Dinner is mixed vegetables (composed of broccoli, cauliflower, string beans, asparagus, carrots, mushrooms, chicken liver and gizzard, pechay, mixed in sesame oil, soy sauce, flour, mirin, worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, pepper, mushroom water), rice, and apples. @thirdbagro come home soon. I know you will like the veggies! 🙂 #mrsdomesticated #foodart #nomnom #foodartph #bento #bentoph #mickeymouse #disney #disneyland
5. Angry Bird:
This #angrybird breakfast is fairly easy to do. I just fried some rice with ketchup (plus siomai bits) for the red-orange part of the bird, white/plain rice for the white part, tomato for the beak, cheese for the whites of the eyes, and nori sheets for eyebrows and blacks of the eyes. 🙂 @thirdbagro, #mrdomesticated, seemed to enjoy it yesterday. 🙂 😂😊😘 #mrsdomesticated #foodart #bento #bentoph
6. Panda #2:
A cute panda perched on a big branch (of meat! 😂). Big shout out to @todonaton for my new panda mold! 🙂 Pandas are super adorable creatures. The most popular character in our generation is Po of Kungfu Panda (i will make one next time!). Sadly, they are endangered and conservation efforts still need a lot of help. @amivitale of @natgeo features these beautiful creatures, if you want to know more! 🙂 #lunch #panda #foodart #bento #bentoph #mrsdomesticated #endangeredspecies #monggo
